Anarkali Suits

ANARKALI DRESSES (NEW)

Who can ever forget the legendary historical character Anarkali ? This court dancer of the Mughal emperor Akbar and the love of his famous son Salim used to perform her dances in a typical dress that resembled plain umbrella patterned skrits at the bottom and an embellished choli or blouse at the top. This ethnic wear was made most popular, perhaps by our yesteryear bollywood actress Madhubala who herself performed the role of Anarkali in the film 'Mughal-e-Azam'. Further, this type of Churidar Kameez, that became popular as Anarkali Churidar Suits were worn by such Bollywood stars as Meena Kumari in 'Pakeeza,' Rekha in 'Umrao Jaan,' Aishwarya Rai Bachchan again in the remake of 'Umrao Jaan' and Madhuri Dixit in 'Aaja Nachle.' Therefore, these actresses should also be given equal credit for making Anarkali churidar suits popular among today's young women of India.

Designer Anarkali Suits are the best picks for Diwali, Dusherra, Eid and all major festivals thanks to the elaborate embroidery. Featuring traditional silhouette, Designer Anarkali Suits reveal conservative styling that’s in keeping with the conventional beliefs of the festival. Designer Anarkali Suits feature longer hemlines and thus look best when made of soft, wispy and flowy fabrics such as net, chiffon or georgette and usually reveal an inner lining of satin or crepe. Designer Anarkali Suits are also made of rich and heavy fabrics such as brocades or velvets. However, these do tend to be quite voluminous and best suits slim, tall and athletic body types. A typical Designer special Anarkali Dresses features kalis or panels made of wispy fabrics while the bodice is generally made of rich and heavy fabrics such as velvets, brocades, silks, etc. Designer Anarkali Suits are undoubtedly the best for gorgeous Eid celebrations and the latest varieties of Eid Anarkali Suits most often feature stunning color combinations such as blue and green, pink and purple, green and purple, and many such mesmerizing color combinations. Punjabi Suit

Salwar Kameez or Shalwar Kameez is a dress normally worn by North Indian and traditional dress worn by various peoples of south-central Asia. It is a traditional dress of Punjab in North India and that why it is also called “Punjabi Suit” and this is national dress for both men and women in Pakistan and Afganistan. Some time is instead of Salwar it is pronounced as Shalwar but basically both are referring to same outfit. The word kameez is derived from the Latin camisia ( shirt or tunic ), from which it probably made its way into various European languages (Chemise) and also into Arabic, the likely immediate source for kameez

Salwar or bottom part is a sort of loose Pajama like trouser of the Salwar Kameez suit. Traditionally it is wide from top. It has 4 to 5 inches belt attached to rest part of the salwarwhich is pleated. Upper part of the Belt has tunnel for drawstring. Normally the traditionalsalwar size from top at waist area is almost double as the actual waist size to make it comfortable to wear. Salwar has big room at the thigh area for comfort ness. Salwar has almost double bottom size as the circumference of the ankle so as to make proper space for the feet to put inside for wearing.

Traditional Kameez is normally long up to knee with wide circumference (Ghera) and with full sleeves. It is almost fully covered from the back as back neck line depth like 2-3" and medium low at the front like 6-7" inches as front neck line depth. It is wide or broad at neck like 6-7" inches to put the head into the Kameez.

Dupatta (or Store or Scarf or Shawl) is third piece of this Salwar Kameez set. Hey usually wear around head or neck.

For Muslim women, the dupatta is a less stringent alternative to Chador or Burqa

For Hindu women (especially those from northern India , where the salwar kameez is most popular), the dupatta is useful when the head must be covered, as in a temple or the presence of elders. For other women, the dupatta is simply a stylish accessory that can be worn over one shoulder or draped around the chest and over both shoulders.

The most common design of a salwar kameez you find is long, going below the knees. It is straight and has two slits on either side. The salwar is flared with a horizontal band at the end. The duppata or scarf is rectangle in shape and worn in front with the sides falling at the back from over the shoulders. This is the basic description of what a salwar kameez usually is. However, with different spheres of time there have been many modifications in this design according to the changing trends
